The Minister of Urban Development and the France Ambassador in Cameroon just signed the agreement to start the road project.

France Ambassador, Thierry Marchand and Virginie Dagos, Director of the French Development Agency in Cameroon, visited the ongoing C2D operations in the city of Bamenda. During the visit, Minister Ketcha Courtès said: “together, we assessed the work already done and launched the structural road works entrusted to RAZEL, Buns and Mag.

According to the Minister, this project will transform the urban landscape of Bamenda. Like Bafoussam, Bertoua, Garoua and Maroua, the city of Bamenda will benefit from the construction and rehabilitation of nearly 13 km of urban roads, the construction of numerous commercial premises and the construction of the municipal library.

It was during this trip that the contract for the start of work on Bamenda’s trunk roads, worth more than 20 billion F, was signed.

In Batouri, on the other hand, work on the town’s trunk road is the result of cooperation between Cameroon and the World Bank under the Inclusive and Resilient Cities Development Project.

The aim of the Inclusive and Resilient Cities Development Project (Pdvir) is “to improve urban management and access to infrastructure in selected urban areas, particularly in underserved districts, and to increase resilience to natural hazards and other eligible crises”.
